Our partnership with CECOFA.
Ram Champions proudly values its supply-side partnership with CECOFA, the Central Coffee Farmers Association based in Uganda.
CECOFA is a cooperative with a significant presence across Africa and a growing pool of more than 13,500 coffee farmers. The organization has partnered with Ram Champions as its distribution point in the USA for coffee beans produced by the cooperative. CECOFA is certified to trade in Fair Trade Uganda, Fair Trade International and 4C.

Our goal
To warehouse coffee in the United States so we can fulfill domestic purchase orders quickly at any time, whether as monthly fixed-price deliveries or term contract purchase spreads.
Risk management & price certainty
As CECOFA’s point of sale in the continental USA, we take over the international shipping risks our clients would otherwise assume, removing a key and expensive logistics burden.
Reliability
With a single market purpose and no other business distractions, we receive and deliver coffee on time, in the quality and quantity desired, while easing supply-side fluctuations.
Natural Robusta from the shores of Lake Victoria.
The bulk of the coffee supplied by CECOFA is natural Robusta grown near the shores of Lake Victoria.
Red-ripe cherries are harvested and dried naturally under the sun. The dried beans are then hulled and taken to CECOFA’s coffee factory, where they are graded and exported. CECOFA invests heavily in quality management, traceability and sustainability programs, with its own quality-control laboratory and training in Good Agricultural Practices.

Traceable imports & exports
Our coffees are traceable to our supply chains, with verifiable chain-of-custody proof. We import green beans from registered, identifiable farmer cooperatives across Africa, roast some in our U.S. facilities for domestic trade and export, and ship green beans directly from Africa to destinations worldwide.
Environmental initiatives
Our pool of farmers is trained to protect the environment through programs like tree-planting, soil protection, energy conservation and minimizing crop contamination.
Gender, youth & community empowerment
Gender-based training helps women in Africa participate fully in the coffee-farming business, and local sporting sponsorships encourage young people to maintain coffee farms. CECOFA’s social programs address community needs such as water, sanitation, health care and infrastructure.

Our partner CECOFA is certified to trade in Fair Trade Uganda, Fair Trade International, Global Coffee Platform and 4C. We are always willing to work with other certifiers on request from potential buyers.
